VB.NET developer immediate start
at PurchaseControl.com in Dublin City South

PurchaseControl.com is a fast growing on-line SAAS purchase management solution designed to help businesses save time and money by controlling all their purchasing. The system has been designed to move the traditional purchasing process on line leading to greater business efficiency for our clients. Originally created in 2004, over the past 24 months our client base has doubled leading to increased revenue and a greater need for product development.
We currently have a requirement for a VB.NET developer. The successful candidate will have 3 + years experience of .Net and 5 years commercial development experience, who will be involved in the continuing re development of the application and support of existing implementations. The candidate should be able to take responsibility for their own tasks, manage time effectively and have the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
Role responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain the current application.
• Deliver high quality development projects on schedule.
• Implement new and existing product features.
• Maintaining and tuning existing applications to meet performance criteria and customers evolving requirements.
• Provide 3rd line support for system issues
• Liaise weekly with a senior architect to review development
• Management of web servers
Your profile:
• A degree in computer science from a recognised University or Technical College.
• Strong knowledge of VB.NET
• Proficient in Microsoft SQL database development including database design and SQL programming.
• Understanding of security driven by CSLA.
• Experience of maintaining existing code bases.
• Knowledge and experience of IIS 6/7
• Knowledge and experience of web technologies including WCF, XML, SOAP, WSDL HTML, CSS.
• Enthusiasm for software development and emerging technologies.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Previous experience of load balance and performance testing would be highly desirable.
• Previous experience of financial software would be beneficial.
• Excellent problem solving abilities.
