Exercise and Rehabilitation Therapist

The vacancy
Our ambitious nationwide company seeks a graduate of Exercise Rehabilitation or Exercise Science to work with our ageing population. The role involves working with a geriatric population in retirement homes and day-care centres.
Clients will include predominantly (but not exclusively) long term nursing home residents with physical and mental pathologies, (Stroke, Alzheimer’s and related dementias) right through to able bodied and active ageing adults.
This is an ideal position for recently qualified graduates with an interest in the ageing population.
Key responsibilities
- Instructing, prescribing, recording, analysing group and individual exercise therapy sessions with participants of varying capacity.
- Setting outcome measures using research based functional outcome measures.
- Attending and presenting in services on relevant topics. Analysing research papers in our bi-weekly research review.
- Collaborate with other members of the team to introduce new ideas and approaches to offer a holistic and comprehensive service.

A candidate with a genuine interest and commitment to the position.
Knowledge
A candidate must have a minimum of a BSc in an exercise based degree (Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Sport and Rehabilitation).
English must be excellent as accurate communication is essential, and be to a native speaker standard.
Experience & skills
Experience either working or knowledge of a long term geriatric or other specialist populations would be greatly beneficial but not essential.
Must have recent and relevant references.
Good communication and interpersonal skills essential.
Other
Most sessions and treatments are on site, so the successful candidate must have their own vehicle and be prepared to travel.
Full training will be provided.
