Basic Grade Radiographer - West of Ireland - Immediate Start

Position: Basic Grade Radiographer
Location: West of Ireland
Temporary/Contract/Permanent: Fixed Term Contract
Salary: €36,186 - €47,011
Company Info:
A state of the art hospital in the West of Ireland is seeking a basic Grade Radiographer who is CT trained for a fixed term contract. The successful candidate will be joining a very friendly team of professionals who are committed to providing the highest standards of service. The ideal candidate will available to being work immediately.
Responsibilities:
• Undertake all normal clinical work on rotation through the Department under the direction of Senior Radiographers.
• Continually aim to achieve a high technical and professional standard of work.
• Undertake to be trained to the standard required by the department and accept advice and instruction when necessary.
• Work as a team member with all members of the department and other hospital staff ensuring an efficient service to all users and patients.
• Ensure the good welfare of patients whilst in the Department, maintaining good patient care and understanding.
• Maintain the good order and cleanliness of equipment and accessories used and report all incidents considered unsafe to senior staff.
• To abide by all national legislation and local rules in relation to Health and Safety and Radiation Protection.
• Participate in the appraisal system.
• Prioritise workload depending on the severity of a patient condition and the direct impact on their management.
• Maintain accurate patient records to reflect the service provided and meet professional standards.
• Work independently when providing a stand/by and on call service to patients requiring urgent imaging due to acute trauma or illness.
• Be involved in transferring immobile patients from chairs and beds to X-ray tables using a variety of patient transfer devises using techniques to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
• Inform relevant clinicians/ other clinical staff regarding significant radiographic findings to ensure a high level patient care.
• Recognise the signs of adverse reaction to contrast media, including anaphylactic shock, and be able to give appropriate first aid
• Participate in mandatory training and actively pursue Continuous Professional Development keeping an up to date personal record.
Requirements:
• Possess the Bachelor of Science degree in diagnostic Radiography or similar
• IIRRT registered.
• 2 years plus experience in general x-ray is essential.
• Strong communication and team-working skills.
