Full-time Technical Support Representative

at Blacknight Internet Solutions Ltd in Carlow

This is a 1st line technical support / customer service role for Ireland’s largest Hosting and Domain registration provider – Blacknight

As a job in this sector would be a specialised support role we will provide full training and so no certification or advanced skills in computer use is required.

Responsibilities

The role would have the following responsibilities:

  • Deal with customer’s queries via phone, email, and instant messaging like platform. * Deal with customer queries as above in the language the candidate is fluent in (other than English). * Act on requests from other departments within the company. * Requests and queries usually relate to technical issues customers have with setting up email account and their websites through the control panels we offer. * Flexible working hours may be required, including weekend work.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

While no experience or education in the IT or Computers area is required, an interest or proficiency in general computer use would be essential.

Applicant must be interested and eager to learn more about the Hosting / domain industry.

Preferred Skills

Experience with dealing with the general public in a previous job role would be ideal.

Familiarity with the Windows and Linux operating systems, and general shell commands like “grep”, would be preferred also but are not essential.

Knowledge of a language other than English would be advantageous, though not necessary.

Location

Our head office is based in Carlow, but we have offices in Dublin. All successful applicants would need to complete initial training in Carlow.

Salary Range:
23.5k to 27.5k
