Infrastructure Manager

Infrastructure Manager

Reporting to the Head of IT, the Infrastructure Manager is responsible for leading technology infrastructure developments within the IT team. The role encompasses the design of infrastructure (hardware and software) and the production of robust and resilient physical solutions in line with agreed Infrastructure Development Life Cycle (IDLC) standards.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience in developing and managing integrated processes in a time critical, complex and and highly varied support organisation
• Significant experience in migration to, and the operation and management of third party commercial data centres
• The capability to lead, motivate and challenge a small team to deliver on the objectives of the function and to continue to develop their skills and competencies along IT industry best practice.
• Understanding of all the dimensions involved in the successful development and maintenance of complex IT operations
• Strong planning skills
• Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to foster an environment of continuous improvement and best practices
• The minimum requirement for this position is an honours third level degree or professional qualification combined with substantive relevant professional experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop an in depth understanding of CBI’s infrastructure operation and to design structures, processes and metrics for its effective delivery
• Take ownership of the overall data centre and infrastructure projects
• Ensure transition / migration plans from development projects to support take place using defined processes, are properly documented and that the support organisation is positioned to assume support
• Identify, implement and produce monthly metrics on an appropriate range infrastructure services.
• Carry out impact analysis on proposed changes to production environments.
• Create and maintain effective relationships with third party suppliers of support services
• Take ownership of all aspects of the personnel management of the Infrastructure function
• Enhance the IT Business Continuity capabilities of the CBI
• Ensure that relevant best practice policies are adopted and adhered to for all aspects of IT security
• Ensure necessary alignment with support requirements and policies of the ECB, ESCB and Eurosystem environment
