Silicon Processing And Integration Engineer
Location: Cork, Ireland
Position
SensL is actively developing a new generation of silicon based low light level detection products and has an opportunity in its R&D engineering team for a Silicon Processing and Integration Engineer who will lead the development effort. The devices being developed are SPM’s (Silicon Photomultipliers) which are intended to be a replacement to the vacuum based Photomultiplier tube.
Responsibilities
The Silicon Processing and Integration Engineer will be responsible for the ongoing development of the detectors which is done in partnership with the Tyndall National Institute in Cork, Ireland. They will also be responsible for transfer of this technology to a foundry for high volume production. The candidate will be expected to own the development roadmap of the devices and to drive yield and process improvements as appropriate through our process partners. This position will be based in Cork, Ireland.
Ideal Candidate
The candidate should have a Masters/Doctorate in electronic engineering, material science, physics or other closely related disciplines. They should have a strong background in silicon device processing and integration ideally in silicon diodes. The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience but the ideal candidate will have 10+ years experience in the semiconductor industry. The candidate should be very knowledgeable of silicon processing and device integration with a strong preference given to candidates in the silicon diode industry but CMOS processing experience will also be considered. The person should be comfortable leading the development effort and have good interpersonal skills. Experience working with remote teams would be a plus and experience working with foundries in a process transfer or quality role would be highly desirable. Familiarity with device electrical and physical characterization is a requirement.
