This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Web Developer to work in a dynamic Irish eCommerce company. Global Business Register is Ireland’s largest Business Information Provider delivering official company information to its clients worldwide.
As a web developer & designer you will be responsible for online development and will be a key member of the technical development team. Reporting directly to the CTO, the ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 yr commercial experience designing and developing accessible, W3C standards-compliant eCommerce based web sites using XHTML, CSS, JavaScript & ASP.NET. This hands-on role will require the successful candidate to innovate through all phases of the web development lifecycle; requirements analysis & specification, site structure and design, website construction, marketing (SEO & PPC), ongoing maintenance and statistical analysis.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 1 year experience implementing large scale, mission-critical, web based e-commerce projects with the technical ability to adopt a hands-on approach throughout the full web development lifecycle
- Proven XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, XML, C# & ASP.NET capabilities combined with good Microsoft SQL Server experience.
- Experience with object oriented programming, UML / design patterns and a passion for conformance to web development processes and standards while maintaining an unflinching consumer focus
- Experience of all aspects of web testing including functionality, usability, performance / scalability, interface, security and A/B testing
- Must be able to work on your own initiative, demonstrating excellent presentation and communication skills to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong project management skills and an ability to manage partners / agencies
Experience of the following would be advantageous
• Design techniques (context sensitive navigation, specialised controls, expanding forms, modal windows, etc.)
• Knowledge of technical implementation SEO
• Mobile application development and site optimisation
• Exposure to SSL/Secure Servers
